Pitt Hill Lane is a short, easy going UCR just south-east of Hambledon, a village often referred to as the 'cradle of cricket'. Starting at its western end, just north of Pithill Farm, the lane carves its path atop the foothills of Broadhalfpenny Down.

Never much more than two occasionally ill-defined gravel tyre tracks either side of a grassy central separation, the lane winds its way 123' uphill with a high hedge on its left and a beautiful view over the shallow valley to its right. Despite the hedge's best efforts, encroaching vegetation is never an issue. After around a kilometre or so and just south of Glidden Farm with its microlight site, Pitt Hill Lane ends where it merges with Horsepost Lane, another UCR that runs roughly south-west towards Denmead.

On a fine summer's day there really are few lanes in this area offering a more pleasant drive. If only it were a touch longer it would score higher than a two.
